Figure 2.

miR-146a expression modulates cell proliferation in gastric cancer cells. SGC-7901 cells were transfected with (A) an miR-146a mimic or (B) an miR-146a inhibitor, or scrambled controls, at a final concentration of 10 nM for 48 h. Proliferation of cells was evaluated using a Cell Counting kit-8 assay. miR-146a overexpression significantly inhibited proliferation of SGC-7901 cells. By contrast, the miR-146a inhibitor significantly promoted the proliferation of SGC-7901 cells compared with the scrambled control. Data are expressed as the mean ± standard deviation of three independent experiments. *P<0.05 and **P<0.01 vs. scrambled control at the same time point. miR, microRNA; Ctrl, control; OD, optical density.
