For the alpha1 frequency, a decrease in activity was identified in the posterior cingulate cortex extending into to the precuneus for the fibromyalgia patients. For the beta1 and beta2 frequency bands, increased spontaneous activity was measured within the posterior cingulate cortex extending into the precuneus. In addition, a significant effect was found for the beta3 frequency band revealing increased activity in the dorsal anterior cingulate cortex and the subgenual anterior cingulate cortex.
