(A) Peritoneal macrophages were infected with promastigotes at a ratio of 10:1 parasites to macrophages and treated with inhibitors or miltefosine (positive control). The number of infected macrophages was determined. (B) The percentage of intracellular amastigotes per 100 macrophages was determined microscopically after incubation with inhibitors or the positive control miltefosine (2 μM) for 24 h. There were three replicates in each experiment, and the data are the mean ± SD at each time point.
