RNA categories. RNAs are divided into two major classes: messenger RNA (mRNA) and non-coding RNA (ncRNA). NcRNAs include housekeeping ncRNA, which consists of transfer RNA (tRNA) and ribosomal RNA (rRNA), and regulatory ncRNA. Regulatory ncRNAs are classified into long ncRNA (lncRNA) and small ncRNA.
