Growth and proliferation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells on the scaffolds were studied using a confocal microscope. Human umbilical vein endothelial cells were assessed after 1, 3, and 6 days of cultivation by PI staining on heparinized (d–f) and non-heparinized scaffolds (a–c). Images (30×) were captured from the surface to a depth of 85 μm with excitation/emission at 532/615 nm.
