Below are the four types of mismatch probes (substitution, one base deletion, two base deletion and one base insertion) evaluating the identity of nucleotide position 3255, highlighted in boldface. Note that all mismatch probes are 25mers and that the 13th position of the probe is the interrogation position. For one and two base deletion probes, one and two additional nucleotides are added to the 5′ end of the probes to preserve their length. For one base insertion probes, 1 nt is deleted from the 5′ end of the probes to preserve their length.
