RBM14 is required for the recruitment of DNA-ligase IV complex and autophosphorylation of DNA-PKcs which causes conformation change of DNA-PKcs. In the absence of RBM14, the DNA-ligase IV complex is not recruited to DSB sites. KU proteins persist on damaged chromatin, and ligation does not occur.
