Our proposed mechanism by which miR-375 regulates invasion. miR-375 suppresses the expression of RUNX1. Because RUNX1 positively drives expression of L-plastin and vimentin, the reduction in RUNX1 results in reduced L-plastin and vimentin expression. Vimentin and L-plastin are important for cell invasion, and therefore reductions in L-plastin and vimentin lead to a reduction in invasion.
