A. HCT-116-luc cells were injected orthotopically into wild-type (WT) or human HGF knock-in (hHGF KI) SCID mice, and tumor-bearing mice were randomly assigned to 3 treatment arms: control (CTR), 15 mg/kg bevacizumab (BEV), and 10 mg/kg tivozanib (TIV). Tumor growth was followed over time by in vivo bioluminescence (IVBL). B. Same as in A but using HT-29-luc cells. C. Mean vessel density (MVD) of HCT-116 and HT-29 tumor tissues was determined by IHC using anti-CD146 antibodies. Values represent mean ± SEM. Statistical significance was calculated using a Student's T-test (A and B, n = 7; C, n = 21).
