In the TD individuals (a), the flexibility of their brain dynamics was correlated with their cognitive ability. In the ASD individuals (b), their atypical stability of brain dynamics was associated with both their ASD symptoms and cognitive skills. The brain maps represent binary brain activity patterns of the dominant brain states. Red areas were active regions (+1), whereas the other areas were inactive regions (–1).
