At each ¼ of the fixation period (1500 ms), the central square decreased in size by ¼ in order to give a “countdown” to the next trial. Similarly, at 1sec intervals during the Preparatory Period, the center square of the central checkerboard decreased in size by ¼ in order to give the participants information about the impending response requirement.
