Major cytoskeletal genes are already expressed in ProE and transcript accumulation increases during maturation of primary murine primitive and definitive erythroid cells. (a) Relative transcript levels of cytoskeletal genes in primary definitive (left panel) and primitive (right panel) erythroblasts isolated from adult bone marrow and from staged embryos (ErythronDB: www.cbil.upenn.edu/ErythronDB)¹⁶. (b) Expression of cytoskeletal genes in purified maturing primitive erythroblasts was examined using quantitative real-time PCR.
