Raman spectra of iodide doped hydrogels under various conditions. Successful complex of PVP and iodide is indicated by the presence of a peak at 110 cm−1. A control PEG-PVP gel with no iodide is shown to confirm the lack of convolution due to the chemical composition. PEG-I2 was run to confirm that the complex was due to the interactions with PVP. The heated PEG-PVP shows the greatest amount of iodide complexed to the gel.
