Compound A increases the apparent Vmax of LCAT. rhLCAT was incubated with compound A or vehicle. LCAT activity (100 ng LCAT/well in all reactions) was then measured by following methylumbelliferone (MU) formation at 460 nm after 30 minutes in the presence of increasing concentrations of the substrate, MUP. Results represent means ± S.D. of at least triplicate measurements. **P < 0.02 compared with WT-LCAT treated under the same conditions.
