Low dimensional embeddings: (a) The 15 objects used in this experiment. The graphs plot the 2D embeddings of the objects based on the affinity matrices constructed by ${\rho }_{\mathit{\text{SD}}}^N$ and WESD (ρ^N). Each row presents the results based on different N: 50, 100 and 200 from top to bottom respectively. The structures of the 2D embedding based on ${\rho }_{\mathit{\text{SD}}}^N$ are quite different for different N. WESD however, produces embeddings that are similar. This demonstrates the stability of the embedding with respect to N when WESD is used.
