Sphingolipids extracted from HeLa cells treated with Et, 2.5 μM D-e-Cer, or 2.5 μM L-e-Cer for 1 h were analyzed for contents of total sphingosine (Sph) (D-e-Sph plus L-e-Sph) in cells by ESI-MS/MS. Samples were normalized to total phospholipids (Pi). Data represent mean value ± SD of three independent experiments performed in triplicate.
