Response of (FBG 1,2,3) and axial (FBG 4) sensors during two sample loading conditions: (a) pure transverse loading and (b) pure axial loading. The standard deviations are less than 0.6 pm for the lateral FBGs and is about 1.96 pm for the axial FBG, indicating a highly repeatable response.
