Expression of typical iron regulon genes increases upon overexpression of MGE1 or deletion of FRA1. Expression of the representative iron regulon genes HMX1, FRE1, FIT1, FTR1, FET3, and ARN1 was analyzed by qRT-PCR. For each gene, the left panel shows the effect of overexpressing MGE1 in the BY4742 strain versus the EV control. The right panel shows comparisons of the levels of gene expression between BY4742 and fra1Δ strains. Results are displayed as the average of log₂(Y) transformed values with the SEM. The values were calculated relative to the averages of the values from the respective controls.
