a

Encoded protein starting with the first Met codon in ORF1. Ustilaginoidea virens RNA virus M (UvRV-M) is an exception as described below.

b

Encoded protein starting with the first Met codon in ORF1 and incorporating the +1 or −1 PRF predicted for each virus. UvRV-M is an exception as described below. For Helminthosporium victoriae virus 190S, in which the RdRp is translated as a separate product via a stop/restart mechanism (Li et al., 2015), the shown CP/RdRp length is the sum of the CP and RdRp lengths.

c

Newly proposed genus name (this study)

d

Name of proposed genus suggested by Kotta-Loizou et al. (2015)

e

The reported genome sequence of these viruses appears to be truncated at the 5′ end of plus strand, and their listed lengths may thus be artifactually low. In addition, ORF1 extends to the 5′ end, and the listed lengths reflect that.
