Models are adjusted for age, sex, race, poverty, education, marital status, smoking, physical activity, heart disease, and depression.
Cardiovascular disease risk factors included obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and hypercholesterolemia. The total number of these risk factors was calculated (range 0–4) for each individual and used as the outcome.
