CTSB, cathepsin B; CTSL, cathepsin L; NS, not significant.

Correlations of plasma CTSL and CTSB with other clinical parameters were analyzed by Spearman rank correlation test, and data are presented for all the patients. For correlations of Child–Pugh stage with CTSL and CTSB, control values were also included. *Indicates P value <0.05. **P≤0.01.
