AtvR transcriptionally regulates denitrification and virulence-related genes. Quantitative RT-PCR was performed using cDNA made by reverse transcription of total RNA from ΔatvR/pJN105 or ΔatvR/pAtvR cells grown to an OD₆₀₀ of 1 in LB medium at 37°C with 0.2% arabinose and 50 μg/ml gentamicin under agitation. Results are shown as values relative to the value for the ΔatvR/pJN105 control strain, which was considered 1 (red dashed line). Data are the means ± SDs from at least three independent experiments.
