Curcumin alleviated TNF-α-induced neuroinflammation in mouse dorsal root ganglion explants. Curcumin suppressed mRNA expressions of (a) IL-6 and (b) COX-2 and protein expressions of (c) IL-6 and (d) PGE-2, in a dose dependent manner after co-treatment for 24 h with TNF-α (25 ng/mL). 5 and 24 h post treatment, curcumin (10 µM) prevented TNF-α-induced increased phosphorylation of (e) Akt and (f) Erk, as detected by western blotting and quantified by densitometry analysis. * p < 0.05, ** p < 0.005 vs. control; # p < 0.05, ## p < 0.005 vs. TNF-α group at 5 or 24 h. n = 6 groups of DRGs (5–6 DRGs per group) for each experiment.
