HFHCC diet altered levels of primary metabolites in the liver. Levels of citric acid, glucose-1-phosphate and saccharic acid were significantly reduced in mice after HFHCC diet compared to controls. Significant increases in xylitol, xanthosine, squalene and phenylethylamine (PEA) were observed after HFHCC diet compared to controls.
