C57BL/6J mice injected with PBS, CK2.1, and BMP2 were immunostained for collagen type II (red) and collagen type IX (magenta). Hoechst (blue) was used to determine the nucleus of the residing cell and location (AC: articular cartilage; TB: trabecular bone). (A) CK2.1- and BMP2-injected mice expressed relatively equivalent collagen type II levels.
