After 15 w on the corresponding diets, mice were fasted overnight then injected with saline or insulin (10 mU/g body weight) and then sacrificed after 10 min. Phosphorylation of IR, IRS1, ERK1/2, and Akt were measured in liver by Western blot. Bands were quantified and results for mice fed the control diet supplemented with EC (CE), the HFD (HF), and the HFD supplemented with EC (HFE) were referred to control group values (C). Representative immunoblots are shown.
