A tblastn search of the NCBI database was performed, specifying an A. rosae dataset, using the full amino acid sequence of DSX in Apis mellifera (AmDSX) as a query sequence. Distribution of six blast hits on the query sequence is described. One predicted gene (NCBI accession number XM_012406840.1) showed significant similarities to female-specific AmDSX isoform, AmDSX^F1 (c) and male-specific AmDSX isoform, AmDSX^M (d)
