Cu(II) and Zn(II) inhibit BosR DNA-binding activity. The effect of Mn(II) (A), Fe(II) (B), Cu(II) (C), or Zn(II) (D) on BosR binding to a fluorescently labeled DNA probe was determined by measuring changes in fluorescence anisotropy (ΔFA). See Materials and Methods for details. The curves were fitted for one-site, specific binding with Hill slope using GraphPad Prism 6. R2 was ≥0.99 for all curves.
