Electroporation-mediated gene transfer of hSP-B improves survival of compound SP-B transgenic mice. Compound SP-B transgenic mice (n = 18 per condition) were taken off doxycycline and plasmids were delivered to the lungs by aspiration and electroporation as described in Materials and Methods. Mice were maintained off of doxycycline for the remainder of the experiment and observed at least twice daily for signs of respiratory distress.
