Average mechanical properties, (a) Eelastic, (b) ER, (c) E0, and (d) μ, of GFP-, dnRhoA-, and β-Actin-transfected WI-38 cells after four days on 0.3, 0.5, and 1.4 kPa PAAm gels and glass coverslips (CS). In general, cells displayed similar mechanical properties, regardless of organizational morphology (nodule vs. plaque vs. single cells) and substrate stiffness. Data shown as mean ± s.d., with statistical significance determined using Kruskal-Wallis ANOVA on ranks for each mechanical parameter within each cell line, followed by a Dunn’s post-hoc analysis (* p < 0.05).
