Sequencing of An. gambiae small RNAs. (a) Schematic of small RNA library preparation. Adult abdomens were dissected from female An. gambiae at the indicated time points. Three types of RNA pools (Total, Ago1-IP and Ago2-IP) were prepared independently. Small RNAs of 15–30 nt were size-selected from 10% TBE-urea gels and purified for library construction. (b) Length distribution of total sequencing reads. NBF, non-blood-fed; PBM, post-blood meal. (c) Annotation of sequencing reads. Reads from the same type of RNA libraries were put together for comparison. Minor fractions (less than 1%) are not labeled.
