Fibroblasts increased production of α-smooth muscle actin (αSMA) by 334% and collagen 1A production by 48% when exposed to TGF-β. Treatment with salinomycin (SNC) not only reduces basal expression of A) Thy1, B) αSMA, and C) collagen 1A, but also prevents myofibroblast induction by TGF-β.
