The figure shows an overview on the four major project steps that were outlined subsequently: 1) Simulations to evaluate Type 1 Error, 2) Analytical computations of power, 3) Real data application and 4) Recommendation. *The valid 2-stage approach $\left[{\mathrm{Overall}}_{{\mathrm{\alpha }}_{\mathrm{F}\mathrm{i}\mathrm{l}\mathrm{t}\mathrm{e}\mathrm{r}}}\right]\to \left[{\mathrm{Diff}}_{{\mathrm{\alpha }}_{\mathrm{Diff}}}\right]$ was omitted from power computations due to expectedly lower power of the approach compared to the valid 1-stage approach $[{\mathrm{Overall}}_{{\mathrm{\alpha }}_{\mathrm{F}\mathrm{i}\mathrm{l}\mathrm{t}\mathrm{e}\mathrm{r}}}\to {\mathrm{Diff}}_{{\mathrm{\alpha }}_{\mathrm{Diff}}}]$ that makes use of the full available sample size for both filtering and difference testing.
