Aluminum isopropoxide, P123, and H₂PtCl₆ mixture ethanolic solution self-assembled into a gel after ethanol evaporation at 60 °C. The gel was calcined at 400 °C and reduced in 5% H₂/N₂ at 400 °C, forming the single atom catalyst 0.2Pt/m-Al₂O₃-H₂.
