(A) Meclizine increases glucose consumption in DRG cultures. Following incubation under normoxic or hypoxic conditions, glucose concentration in medium is depleted to a greater extent in cultures supplemented with meclizine. (B) Extracellular lactate levels are elevated by meclizine under normoxic or hypoxic conditions. Simultaneous addition of 2DG abrogates meclizine effects.
