A431 and SKBR-3 cells were labeled with the fluorescent markers displayed in the first column, followed by determining the Pearson correlation coefficient between them. The analysis was carried out in the whole cell (“cell mask” in supplemental Fig. S1) or ignoring bright patches (“cell mask ignoring bright patches” in supplemental Figure S1). The quality of the images of cells labeled with the anticholesterol antibody or with transferrin did not allow the analysis ignoring bright patches. The mean (±SEM) of the correlation coefficients determined from n number of different images as well as the 95% CI assuming no correlation (r = 0) are displayed in the table.
