Role of endothelium in cholinergic vasodilatory responses of ophthalmic artery of eNOS−/− mice. Vasodilatory responses to ACh (10−4 M) were almost abolished in vessels denuded of endothelium. Conversely, vasodilation to exogenous NO donor, SNP (10−4 M) was preserved in both endothelium-denuded and -intact vessels.
