Starch accumulation in continuous light in wild-type plants and two clock mutants. Plants were grown in 12-h-light/12-h-dark cycles at 160 µmol quanta m⁻² s⁻¹. On the day of the experiment, plants were transferred to continuous light of 90 µmol m⁻² s⁻¹ at dawn. cca1 lhy plants were 15 d old, Ws-2 plants were 12 d old, Col-0 plants were 21 d old, and prr7 prr9 plants were 28 d old on the day of the experiment. The cca1 lhy mutant is in the Ws-2 background; the prr7 prr9 mutant is in the Col-0 background. Striped zones represent the subjective night. Values are means ± sd of measurements on five biological replicates. Replicates consisted of pooled material from a single, 10-cm pot, which contained 10 to 12 plants for cca1 lhy and five plants for other genotypes.
