Rate constants for mtSSB binding to dT₃₀

Rate constants were derived in globally fitting data shown in Fig. 4. Data were fit with the rate constants linked in a 2:1 ratio as described under “Results,” where k₊₁ = 2 × k₊₂ and k₋₂ = 2 × k₋₁. Alternatively, the rate constants were unlinked, allowing the four rate constants to be independent variables during data fitting. In each case the S.E. values, shown in parentheses, were estimated from confidence contour analysis providing upper and lower limits with a χ² threshold of 0.98 (minimum/observed χ²).
