Data are means ± s.e.m. (n = 4). For the parameters where genotype × water treatment interaction is significant, LSD-values at P = 0.05 are given for the interaction; if a two-way interaction is not significant, the LSD0.05-values are given for the effects of genotype and/or water. ns, no significant difference. Data for aboveground dry weight, seed yield, harvest index, water use, and WUEG from five plants per container were pooled and the mean per container presented, while data for the remaining parameters were the means of the tagged plants.
