The SlFERL1-VIGS construct was transfected into tomato at 18 days post-anthesis. At 12 days after transfection, fruits were detached and analyzed. Values are means ± SD of two samples (each sample includes five fruits). Asterisks denote significant differences compared with the control sample (i.e., VIGS-C) at P < 0.01, using Student's t-test.
