All homozygotes, S40ⁱS40ⁱ and S40^lS40^l, were fertile (both pollen and spikelet), while the heterozygotes S40ⁱS40^l demonstrated typical pollen and embryo sac semi-sterility; P-value was obtained using the χ²-test under the hypothesis of Mendelian segregation.
