A, QB dynamics take place in the microvilli of the rhabdomere. B, Hodgkin–Huxley formalism is used to model a suite of voltage‐gated K+ channels on the R1‐R6 photoreceptor body. The simulated voltage responses were generated by injecting macroscopic LICs to the Hodgkin–Huxley model of the photoreceptor membrane. The macroscopic voltage response acts as a global feedback, regulating the electromotive driving force through all the TRP/TRPL channels. C and D, the global voltage feedback is adaptive, compressing the signal less with dim stimulation (C), but more with bright stimulation (D).
