Loss of ATP7A confers copper-dependent hypersensitivity to hydrogen peroxide. MEFRAS7A- and MEFRAS7A+ cells in a 24 well plate were exposed to 40 µM H2O2 in either normoxia (21% O2) or hypoxia (2% O2) in the presence of absence of the copper chelator tetrathiomolybdate (TTM; 4µM). Cell viability was then determined using the MTT assay after 24 hours of treatment (mean ± S.E.M., *P<0.05, **P<0.01, ***P<0.001).
