In the regions adjacent to the microinfarct, AISs were disrupted with a 21.7% increase in average AIS length when compared to control (p = 0.3328). There was no difference in AIS length in the remaining tissue. Paranodal segments were also disrupted with a 30.2% increase in average paranodal length when compared to control (p = 0.0769).
