Model of the ocular perfusion pressure (OPP) and perfusion changes during IOP elevation. (a) An elevation of the IOP will cause a decrease in the mean OPP. (b) The pressure amplitude defined as the difference between the systolic and diastolic pressure level remains unchanged until the diastolic OPP undercuts the diastolic blood pressure. (c) The ocular perfusion will stop at this threshold and hence the fundus pulsations will vanish as well.
