Bacterial loads in the liver and spleen of animals infected with L. monocytogenes or S. Typhimurium. C57BL/6 mice were infected intravenously with 104 CFU of L. monocytogenes (A and C) or S. Typhimurium (B and D). Groups of at least 3 animals were sacrificed at different time points, livers (A and B) and spleens (C and D) were aseptically harvested, and the bacterial load was evaluated.
