Figure 2

Survival curves for G. mellonella larvae injected with conidial suspensions of N. fumigata FGSC A1141, an ergot alkaloid-deficient dmaW knockout (ko) mutant of that strain, an ergot alkaloid restored strain complemented with a wild-type allele of dmaW (dmaW ct), or phosphate-buffered saline control (PBS). In panel A, inoculated larvae were incubated at 22 °C for seven days. In panel B, inoculated larvae were incubated at 37 °C for 48 hours. Curves were derived from data from three trials with 10 larvae per treatment per trial. Treatment labels followed by different italicised letters have survival curves that differ significantly in a log-rank test with Bonferroni-adjusted alpha value set at 0.0083 (derived from 0.05/six pairwise comparisons). Panel C shows larvae incubated at 22 °C for 5 days in one trial.
