Participants included children and adolescents 6–19 years of age, participating in NHANES 2001–2006, who had a serum vitamin D and urine albumin and creatinine measurement available. Vitamin D levels of 12, 20 and 32 ng/ml correspond to thresholds of <30, 50 and 80nmol/L for vitamin D deficiency.
