λ > 1 signifies a growing population. Brackets show 95% CIs. Interval is particularly large for 1999 because of almost complete breeding failure and nearly complete survival for most age classes, so that the rate of population shrinkage depends disproportionately on survival in the final age class (age 22+), a value predicted with low precision because sample size declines with age.
